Just announced: KIT nova—a bold new partnership to create the university campus of the future.
A first-of-its-kind venture opening new pathways for learning, collaboration, and advancement to students, education professionals, and commercial partners.

Journee has joined forces with the Karlsrühe Institute of Technology (KIT), manufacturing giant Trumpf and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry for Business, Work & Tourism to embark on a groundbreaking new project in the field of AI-supported education.
KIT nova is a first-of-its-kind venture designed to enhance the university experience using the incredible potential of artificial intelligence, virtual spaces, and remote digital collaboration.
At its core is a dynamic digital twin of the forthcoming KIT nova research building in Karlsrühe, designed to seamlessly connect talent, technology, and industry across both physical and virtual environments. This is paired with a plethora of bespoke Journee technology solutions including an AI-enhanced inspiration & brainstorm room, a hyper-realistic training facility for Trumpf industrial machinery, and a 3D visualisation space for rapid prototyping and feedback.
Previewed at the “XR Expo: Virtuelle Welten” conference on May 8 in Stuttgart, KIT nova reimagines the technical education experience through a fully interactive 3D environment enhanced with industry-leading AI learning tools.
Powered by Journee's patented immersive web technology, the project bridges infrastructure with innovation, opening new pathways for learning, collaboration, and advancement to students, education professionals, and commercial partners.

The project is due for full launch in 2026. Make sure to sign up for the Journee newsletter to keep informed of further developments.
